CBS has made an early move by giving a series order toSheriff Country, a spin-off of the popular dramaFire Country. The network plans to debut the new series during the 2025-2026 TV season, extending the narrative universe of first responders to a new corner of storytelling. The genesis ofSheriff Countrystemmed from a backdoor pilot featured in theFire Countryepisode titled “Alert the Sheriff,” which aired on April 12. The New York Film Critics Circle has announced its awards for 2017. While they’re hardly the only critics group on the circuit, they’re arguably the most influential/notable one.
