Many of the shows listed below had their narrative cut short, some not having been able to properly establish their story for viewers to see the entire picture. It’s a ruthless world out there, but with so many streaming platforms picking up canceled series, it’s possible that some of these shows may find another life — resurrecting what could have been.

Dracula (2013)

Pretending to be an American entrepreneur, Dracula returns to London on the guise of wanting to bring modern science back to Victoria, England — with dark plans for revenge against those who’ve ruined his life centuries ago. But his plans hit a complication when he falls deeply in love with a woman who seems to be the reincarnation of his dead wife.

A lavish production with a twisty narrative that makes it worth watching. The series could have had a darker tone throughout, and some storylines were questionable — notably the relationship between Lucy and Mina, and the latter’s reaction to the certain events that transpired— the actors involved voicing their opinions and concerns. A teen comedy-drama about 16-year-old fraternal twin sisters who join forces with a veteran bounty hunter — entering into a world of bail skipping baddies without their parents’ knowledge, while also trying to live their teenage lives.

Maddie PhillipsandAnjelica Bette Fellinihave such an amazing chemistry — everything is so seamlessly natural. The charmingly naive and instinctively hilarious aspects of the characters and their story development bring a sense of relatability that audiences are so easily able to relate, and get emotionally invested with.

GLOW (2017)

When an out-of-work actress in the 80s finds an unexpected chance at stardom — working alongside 12 other Hollywood misfits. The story focuses on the personal and professional lives of each of the characters as they try to navigate through the world of women’s wrestling asGLOW.

This 1980s American comedy-drama is beautifully written. The series shines so brightly, with a killer ensemble that captures the heart of characters and audiences alike. The exploration of female friendship, specifically that ofAlison BrieandBetty Gilpin’s characters — the line between friends and enemies.

The remake of the 1983 series of the same name— earth has its first encounter with an extraterrestrial race. Calling themselves visitors with seemingly good intentions, with the want to promote peace. But as their stay extends, their once friendly and congeniality slowly unveils their malevolent agenda as they become more ingrained into society.

With a seasoned cast that includesElizabeth Mitchell,Morena Baccarin,Morris Chestnut, andLogan Huffman, the series is a refreshed and improved update to its predecessor — with a great premise and intriguing themes throughout.

Spinning Out (2020)

Figure skating Olympic hopeful, Kate Baker suffers a serious injury but is given an opportunity to restart her career — as a pairs skater. The series tells the story of how the young ice skater tries to balance her dreams of winning and her love life, all while struggling to hide her family’s history of mental illness.

A series that may seem a bit melodramatic at times. There are also some surprisingly intriguing and thoughtful storylines — the complex relationships incorporating some angsty turmoil, and the exploration of mental illness. Filthy Rich (2020)

A gothic drama that centers around a mega-rich Southern family — when businessman, Eugene dies in a plane crash, his remaining family members are left to deal with the aftermath, including the three illegitimate children the patriarch has written into his will. When wealth, power, and religion collide, an outrageously soapy story unfolds.

A mix of Dallas and Dynasty. The series starringKim Cattrall,Melia Kreiling,Aubrey Dollar,Benjamin Levy Aguilar, andCorey Cottcan only be described as a guilty pleasure — embracing the trashiness that comes with soaps, with the sly wits and intriguingly clever twists.

Secret Bridesmaids’ Business (2019)

A deadly chain reaction reveals a world of secrets when a malevolent stranger gets brought into the lives of three close friends — the power of friendship gets tested when they’re put into life and death situations.

It’s a pity because the series had a lot to offer. The series starsGeorgina Haig,Katie McGrath, andAbbie Cornish. The story was such a well-crafted drama with such real and complex relationships and the added suspense thriller elements throughout the episodes. Not to mention, the cliffhanger the season had ended on, leaves many wondering what the future holds for the friends.

October Faction (2020)

A semi-retired couple, who works as monster hunters, discovers the dark secrets their family has hidden for all these years. All the while, the truth about their employer’s motives is revealed when their magically inclined children reawaken a witch hell-bent on revenge.

The series is much better than some reviews may have put it out to be — an interesting universe with its own rules, dramas, and mysteries.Tamara Taylor,J.C. MacKenzie,Aurora Dawson-Hunte, andGabriel Darkudo a great job of displaying the unique family dynamic. It’s sad that the series got cut short, as it would’ve been nice to see some of the underdeveloped storyline being answered in the next season.
