Back in March, we reported that the fantastic animated featured adaptationBig Hero 6would begetting made into an animated seriesover at Disney XD. The Oscar-winning 2014 feature took in a substantial box office haul worldwide, tallying up well over $650 million, but the story and its wonderful characters haven’t found their way into ongoing conversations. Hopefully this new iteration will find an audience because the source material ofMan of Action’s comic series is just too good to leave unexplored.

A big boost to the popularity of the upcoming 2017 animated series is the fact that the movie’s stellar voice cast will be reprising their roles. Disney XD confirmed as much via a press release today.Maya Rudolphreturns as Aunt Cass, withJamie Chungas no-nonsense speed genius Go Go;Scott Adsitas huggable robot Baymax,Alan Tudykas tech guru Alistair Krei,Ryan Potteras tech genius Hiro,Genesis Rodriguezas quirky scientist Honey Lemon,David Shaughnessyas the butler Heathcliff; and Marvel Comics legendStan Leeas Fred’s dad. Here’s the synopsis of the animated series, followed by additional casting information:

The series picks up immediately following the events of the feature film and continues the adventures and friendship of 14-year-old tech genius Hiro and his compassionate, cutting-edge robot Baymax. Along with their friends Wasabi, Honey Lemon, Go Go and Fred, they form the legendary superhero team Big Hero 6 and embark on high-tech adventures as they protect their city from an array of scientifically enhanced villains. In his normal day-to-day life, Hiro faces daunting academic challenges and social trials as the new prodigy at San Fransokyo Institute of Technology.
