This trailer teaser is short, obviously, but nearly put my jaw on the ground with the shots that it was unveiling. We see a bit of dialogue fromRobin Wrightthrough a rain-soaked frame, then flashes of stunning imagery that could only come from a cinematographer genius likeRoger Deakins. Indeed, Deakins has been nominated for 13 Oscars with zero wins thus far, but I’m ready to call him an early favorite at this juncture based on what we’ve seen fromBlade Runner 2049alone (thoughDunkirk’sHoyte van Hoytemalooks to be giving him a run for his money). As if it weren’t obvious from the above, I’ll admit I’m just excited about Deakins' cinematography here as I am for the entire film, and I need it NOW.
