With a little more than three months until its premiere in theaters, it’s high time thatChainsaw Man—The Movie: Reze Arcfans got hyped up for one of the year’s biggest releases. In the movie’s panel held on the event’s first day, a new trailer was unveiled in order to delve a little deeper into where the story is going. The movie also got anofficial release date: it’s debuting in theaters on October 29.
Fans already knew thatChainsaw Man — The Movie: Reze Arcwas slated for a fall debut, but now they can start counting down the days until they canfinally flock to theatersin order to see what happens next in their new favoriteanime series. It’s been a long wait, since Season 1 of the series wrapped its run in late 2022. Because of that, the gnarly story withruthless villainsand its unique hero will be welcomed with open arms by fans — and the anticipation might make itone of 2025’s biggest animereleases in theaters.
The new trailer underscores Denji’s (voiced byKikunosuke Toyain the original Japanese and byRyan Colt Levyin theEnglish dub) problems with relationships, which will be the center of the story in the movie. Not that it will be anexcessively romantic story— the problem is that after meeting two different girls,the boy-turned-demonwill quickly realize that they might not be exactly what they seem. He also has a new reality to face: Denji is now a part of Special Division 4’s Devil Hunters,which means that his fights with evil entitieswill become more frequent anddangerous as the story progresses.
Is ‘Chainsaw Man’ Renewed for Season 2?
Despite the overwhelminglypositive reception of Season 1— it stands at a near-perfect 97% score onRotten Tomatoes— the future ofChainsaw Manis blurry. While the upcoming movie is a continuation of the story inspired by themanga seriescreated byTatsuki Fujimoto, there has been no news of a Season 2 entering production. This might mean that fans will be in for an even bigger wait afterthey check outChainsaw Man — The Movie: Reze Arcin theaters.
Chainsaw Man — The Movie: Reze Arcis brought to life by MAPPA, the animation studio whose art style has been immensely praised by anime fans. The studio is responsible for other high-profile titles such asDorohedoro,Lazarus,Ranma 1/2, and the highly anticipatedJujutsu KaisenSeason 3. TheChainsaw Manmovie is directed byTatsuya Yoshihara, who previously helmed several episodes ofBlack Clover. He was also a key animator in the hit anime seriesFrieren: Beyond Journey’s End.
