Deadline notes thatToxic Avengeris a re-imagining of Troma’s cult classic, which tells the story of a New Jersey teenager whose accidental tumble into a vat of toxic waste turns him into a mutant superhero.
Adam Scotthas apparently been bitten by the horror comedy bug. After starring in the box office hitKrampuslast winter, earlier this year it was announced that he would team withCraig RobinsonforGhosted, which was described as a single camera, “comedicX Files” for Fox. This week The Hollywood Reported that Scott would joinEvangeline Lillyin the second feature fromTucker & Dale vs Evilwriter/directorEli CraigentitledLittle Evil. According to THR, “Little Evil follows Gary (Scott), who just married Samantha (Lilly) only to find out that her 6-year-old son is the Antichrist.”Little Evilis slated to hit Netflix as an original movie in 2017.

Game of ThronesandUnderworld: Blood WarsactorTobias Menzieshas been cast in AMC’s upcoming anthology seriesThe Terror, based onDan Simmons’2007 novel and produced byRidley Scott. Deadline provided some additional insight into the series, explaining the series is set in 1847 where a Royal Navy expedition crew searching for the Northwest Passage is attacked by a mysterious predator that stalks the ships and their crew in a suspenseful and desperate game of survival. It is a fictionalized account of Captain Sir John Franklin’s lost expedition of HMS Erebus and HMS Terror.
And now, for a bit of fun, Fox has released a 70’s style trailer in anticipation for Friday’s premiere of their ten part drama seriesThe Exorcist. Featuring a grindhouse style voice over and retro editing, the promo is made exclusively of images from the pilot but is still a fun little nod to the time of the original novel and film were released.The Exorcistpremiere, directed byRupert Wyattand starringGeena Davis, debuts this Friday, September 23 on Fox.
