News from the wizarding world ofHarry Potterhas been quite busy of late. The opening date of Universal Studios Hollywood theme park has just been announced, and the spin-off movieFantastic Beasts and Where to Find Themseems to be progressing just fine, but the most recent word onJ.K. Rowling’smodern-day classic series has to do with popular poster artist,Olly Moss.

Pottermore, Rowling’s expansive website for all thingsHarry Potterincluding eBook sales, chatted with Moss about his new artwork for the series' book covers, images which they also unveiled in their entirety. Each of the covers, which you can check out below, have a main image on the surface which hides a secondary image in plain sight. It’s a delightfully playful way to approach a series that’s equal parts magical and dark. Moss sums up his approach as follows:

‘Deathly Hallowsis my favourite cover, because it’s the image that has summed up Harry Potter in my mind for such a long time. The scar – it feels like the culmination of the entire series and that’s the image that’s been stuck in my head.

‘This is a world where things often seem quite mundane on the surface and then have a secondary reveal. I love coming up with those images because it makes me feel that no one’s done this before – no one’s seen something in this specific way.’
