The film follows elite spy Orson Fortune (Statham) as he recruits a movie star to help him stop the sale of dangerous new weapons technology.Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerreearned scores of 51% from critics and 82% from audiences onRotten Tomatoes, and it grossed only $48 million globally against a $50 million budget.Josh HartnettandCary Elwesalso star in the R-rated spy thriller, which debuted in theaters almost two years ago to the day on March 3.

Guy Ritchie teamed up withIvan AtkinsonandMarn Daviesto write the script forOperation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre, and Ritchie alone directed the film. Statham and Ritchie first worked together in 1998 onLock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels, and the film served as a breakout for both of them. Two years later, they reunited inSnatch, which also starsBrad PittandStephen Graham, before also working together in 2005 onRevolver, a psychological thriller in which Statham stars alongside the lateRay Liotta. BeforeOperation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre, the two also worked together onWrath of Man. Ritchie’s next project isMobLand, the upcoming crime thriller series set to debut on Paramount+ on March 30, and he’s tappedTom Hardy,Pierce Brosnan, andHelen Mirrenfor lead roles in the show.

Jason Statham’s New Movie Hits Theaters Tomorrow

Although not a collaboration with Guy Ritchie, Jason Statham has a new movie debuting in theaters everywhere tomorrow. Statham stars alongsideDavid HarbourandMichael PeñainA Working Man, previously titledLevon’s Trade, the action thriller directed byDavid Ayer. Statham and Ayer had previously worked together onThe Beekeeper, and the film was such a success that it warranted a sequel. However, Ayer will not return to direct the sequel due to his commitment towork withBrad PittonHeart of the Beast, and he’ll instead be replaced byTimo Tjahjanto(Nobody 2).
