Jeff Goldblumappeared in the originalJurassic Parkfilms and now he’s a part of the cinematic universe ofIndependence Day, which is getting ready to release a sequel. One could also argue that he’s part of theWes Andersoncinematic universe, being that he’s a frequent guest of the filmmaker’s works. But now, in what could quite possibly be the best thing to ever happen, the actor might actually hop aboard the superhero movie bandwagon.
During an interview withMTV News,Josh Horowitzasked Goldblum if he would appear in a superhero movie. “I can say very little right now,” the actor replied. “But you might be onto something.”

The question is, which superhero movie?
Some of the unexpected casting choices in the world of Marvel have beenMartin Freeman(playing Everett Ross inCaptain America: Civil War), Oscar nomineeDaniel Bruhl(Zemo),William Hurt(General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross), andJeff Bridges(Obadiah Stane inIron Man). For the DCEU, we’re already seeingJ.K. Simmons(Commissioner James Gordon) joining his fellow Spider-Man cast memberWillem DafoeinJustice League: Part One. Plus, if you ask me,Ben Affleckwas pretty unexpected for Batman. And let’s not forget Fox’s X-Men franchise, which has similarly smart choices, likeSophie Turner(Jean Grey inX-Men: Apocalypse),Dan Stevens(in FX’sLegionpilot), andPeter Dinklage(Bolivar Trask inX-Men: Days of Future Past).

Which of these do you think would best fit Goldblum’s sensibilities and charismatic personality? Goldblum’s only other project at the moment is a voice role inan upcoming Anderson film, so he has plenty of time to tackle such a blockbuster extravaganza.
FollowingBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the next superhero movie on the docket isCaptain America: Civil Waron May 6th, followed bySuicide Squadon August 5th. Elsewhere, Goldblum can be seen reprising his role of David Levinson inIndependence Day: Resurgenceon June 24.
