What happens when you blindfold a group of strangers, drop them somewhere in the world, and challenge them to figure out where they are, with no maps, phones, or windows?NBC’sDestination X, hosted by the charismatic (and delightfully mischievous) Jeffrey Dean Morgan, turns that nerve-wracking question intoTV’s next great obsession.

Collider scored an exclusive clip where Morgan offers a cheeky behind-the-scenes tour of the bus, revealing everything from the claustrophobic sleeping quarters to the “map room,” where each episode ends with a brutal twist: the contestant whose guess lands farthest from the actual location is sent packing. “Play nice, you turkeys,” Morgan quips, but withalliances brewing and paranoia rising, niceties won’t last long.Destination Xisn’t just about travel—it’s about survival on the move.

Inside the ‘Destination X’ Bus: Blacked-Out Windows, Zero Privacy, and One Game-Changing Map Room

Morgan teases as he lures us into the mystery machine (otherwise known as the tour bus) for an exclusive behind-the-scenes peek at where the contestants will spend their time, essentially windowless. “Welcome to my Destination X bus,” Morgan beckons us inside, adding that all players will have to look at is each other. “The windows are blacked out, almost at all times.” Morgan walks over to a rust-colored banquette area. “Here is the one maybe seating area that they canpossibly form their alliances, do a little strategizing without everybody hearing,” he says. “So if they don’t like each other, too bad.”

The contestants will also be sleeping like rock star…roadies. Each person gets a sleeping compartment and nearly zero privacy. “This is where the players will be sleeping, and as you can see, we like to make it as uncomfortable as humanly possible. I’m not a short person,” Morgan jokes as he awkwardly has to turn his head sideways to fit in the hallway. He even tests a bed, lying down and saying, “I’m not a short person.” But concludes, “This isn’t so bad. I might be able to do this if there weren’t nine other people in here with me.” Players will primarily be in the sleeping quarters for sleeping, but Morgan quips, “Well, when I say that,God knows what they’re gonna do.”

Beyond the sleeping quarters is the “map room,” which Morgan describes as being “the single most important room in this game.” However, one player refers to it as dangerous because itcould mean the end of the road for some contestants. “The end of every episode will end with players in this very room,” Morgan says. “See, now the object is for the players to figure out where the hell they are. The player that is furthest away leaves my bus. I’m not gonna make it easy for them, I’ll tell you that.”

What Is ‘Destination X’?

Part road trip, part psychological experiment,Destination Xis a high-stakes travel competition where location is the ultimate mystery — and every wrong guess inches contestants closer to elimination. With Morgan as host and tormentor-in-chief, players are forced to navigate their way through an unknown world from inside a blacked-out tour bus that’s more rock star ride than reality rig.

The mix of players includes fresh faces and some reality TV veterans like fan favoritesJaNa Craig fromLove Island,Big Brother’s Josh Martinez, andPeter Weber fromThe Bachelor. At the end of each episode, selected contestants enter the high-stakes map room to mark their best guess — an X on the map showing where they think they are. The player whose guess is furthest from the real location is sent packing. In the end, the last contestant standing will meet Jeffrey Dean Morgan at the true Destination X — and walk away with $250,000.
