In only a few days,Leverage: Redemptionreturns with its highly anticipated Season 3on Prime Video, and of course, fans are so stoked. Causing even more excitement is series starBeth Riesgraf’s latest updates, particularly regarding her character Parker, who’s about to have one hell of a season with some Parker-themed storylines.

Avid fans are aware that Parker is the team’s thief and former mastermind following Nate and Sophie’s retirement. And inthe new season ofLeverage: Redemption, her backstory will be explored in more detail, according to Riesgraf, who also teased “a great moment” ahead for Parker during an interview withScreenRant.

“There’s a really great moment for Parker; it’s actually an entire episode, where she is at the intersection of, Why am I doing this? and, What’s the ethical way? Why am I doing that, or why don’t I just go all the way? Why am I restraining this instinct I have to be really dangerous? It’s a great moment, Parker fans are going to love it, and you’ll see what she ends up doing with that.”

Fans will be glad to know that, despite her dilemma, Parker will not lose “the essence of who she is” inSeason 3 ofLeverage: Redemption, which is important to Riesgraf. The TV icon further hinted at her character’s evolution, which is where her troubled history comes in:

“The fun is there and amazing, but also letting her evolve from the place she started. She’s someone who was very damaged and grew up without anyone to trust or love or feel safe with, so now that she’s got this [group], she doesn’t overthink it. She doesn’t place parameters, she just knows what she’s supposed to do and just does it and doesn’t second guess it.

“There Was A Lot of Organizing” with ‘Leverage: Redemption’

Speaking more about Parker’s backstory, Riesgraf expressed anticipation to explore more of it inLeverage: Redemption’s upcoming season, adding that viewers will “get to see some cool stuff that really brings out some of that backstory.” She also had a few things to say about the show generally beinga revival ofLeverage, which aired from 2008 to 2012. Apparently, “there was a lot of organizing” with questions like “Okay, what is this version of the show, and where are we starting for people who’ve never seen it before? Where are we going to go for those guys, and where do we take these characters that are so beloved by the people who’ve been there since the beginning?”

The crime drama was renewed for its third season in December 2023 and will return on Prime Video on April 17. Stay tuned to Collider for more information.
