InSamuel R. Murrian’s reviewfor Collider, he didn’t quite agree thatDept. Qwas so close to perfection, awarding it a 6/10 and citing bloated storytelling and missteps in the editing department as negative factors. “Dept. Qwill likely grip fans of whodunit fare well enough,” Murrian noted, adding, “but with some crucial tweaks, it’s not hard to imagine it becoming a better show if further seasons are to follow.” Murrian had hope for the show’s future, concluding,“Hopefully, future installments of the series will be as good as its acting.”
