In the wake of theHarvey Weinsteinscandal, Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' board of governors enacted a new Standards of Conduct code, and not a moment too soon. According toTHR, at their May meeting, the board enforced this new rule by expelling comedianBill Cosby, as well as directorRoman Polanski, the latter of whom has been defended by many in Hollywood for a long time (although also protested by others). The new code of conduct was adopted in December by the Academy’s membership, since they needed a way to address the shameful behavior that has always been around but was finally out in the open....

The long-rumored “Choose Your Own Adventure” episode ofBlack Mirrorhas finally arrived, which means all is revealed right? Not even close. Officially titledBlack Mirror: Bandersnatch, the episode is being referred to as the first Netflix Interactive Film for adults, building off technology previously used for childrens content likePuss in Boots: Trapped in an Epic Tale. The episode begins with a brief tutorial of how it’s going to work: viewers are instructed on how to use their remotes or controls to choose the “left” and “right” choices that will display on the screen, and each choice alters the narrative that then unfolds....

The Cinema Audio Society announced the full list of nominees for its 58th annual awards ceremony for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Mixing. This year’s show will feature seven categories honoring the movies, TV shows, documentaries, and variety specials that stood out in regard to sound design along with ten software nominees for Outstanding Product.
