'Peacemaker' Star, 60, Defends His Bad Dancing in the Show's Opening Credits

PeacemakerSeason 2 is heading to Max later this summer and the cast took San Diego Comic-Con to promote the show. Includingletting fans know that the opening number for this season would befeaturing a song fromJames Gunn’s favorite band. Gunn announced as the VIP experience for “Peacefest,” an activation for the show at SDCC, thatFoxy Shazam’s “Oh Lord” would be the opening credit music for Season 2. Season 1 featured the song “Do Ya Wanna Taste It” by the bandWig Wam. But with the opening credits comes dancing for the cast andJohn Cena’s dancing in Season 1 became famous. According to Gunn though, one cast member wasn’t great at dancing:Frank Grillo.

“He is a terrible dancer,” Gunn said on thePeacemakerpanel at San Diego-Comic Con. “But he was a trooper.” Grillo responded by telling the crowd “My knees were dying!” But Grillo went on to explain that he wasn’t initially on board with the opening number. “I was really against it becauseI’m a serious actor,” Grillo said. “And I was reluctant. And little by little, I became the best dancer out of everyone.” The cast all denied that fact though and claimed that Grillo was not, in fact, the best dancer.

Grillo admitted that while he isn’t the best dancer, he liked watching co-starTim Meadows"suffer" through their dance number. “I was horrible,” Meadows said in response. “Everybody expected me to be good, and I don’t want to say why they expected me to be good, but I was horrible.”

James Gunn Reveals Who Is Good At Choreography

During the panel, Gunn also talked about who waspretty good with the choreography and shared thatJennifer HollandandFreddie Stromawere pretty great. “Jen [Holland] is very good, and Freddie [Stroma] is very good,” Gunn said. But if you’re looking forone fan favorite character in particular, don’t worry. Eagly is going to be in the dance number. Gunn previously spoke with Entertainment Weekly and revealed that Chris Smith’s (Cena) furry friend, the bald eagle at his side, will be dancing this season. “You get to see Eagly try to dance for the first time, so that’s really something. He is not the best at it, but he tries to really join in the dance sequence at the end.He’s got a little pose this time.”
