AMC has taken a bold step forward in adapting one of the most violent, intriguing, and dark comic books out there:Garth EnnisandSteve Dillon’sPreacher.Though superfans like show creatorsEvan GoldbergandSeth RogenknowPreacherinside and out, the general TV-watching audience out there might need a bit of a primer before they dive into another comic book-inspired series. With that in mind, the network has released three fantastic featurettes that introduce the show’s characters and mythology while showing off the look of the series.
That’s not to say fans of the comics should skip these videos; they give a great introduction to the live-action adaptation ofPreacher. There are also plenty of Easter eggs that will confuse the daylights out of the casual viewer but delight comic readers. If you’d prefer to approach this one cold, it’s best to avoid the featurettes since they could be consideredspoilery.
