Juliette LewisandEd Begley Jr.will be appearing in the upcomingQueer as Folkreboot. Peacock announced this week that they will have recurring guest star roles in the reboot of the 1999-2000 British series.

Also announced as part of the reboot series cast isArmand Fields(Work in Progress,The Chi),Chris Renfro(Reno 911!, Brooklyn Nine-Nine),Eric Graise(Locke & Key,Step Up: High Water),Sachin Bhatt(Grace & Frankie,Into the Dark), andBenito Skinner(Search Party, Bros).Sex and the City’sKim Cattrallwas also previously announced as a recurring guest star.

Lewis' role is described as a single mom who is more of a friend than a parent to her teenage son. Her previous acting work includes 1989’sNational Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation(directed byJeremiah S. Chechik), and 1991’sCape Fear(directed byMartin Scorsese). She was later nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role inCape Fear. Lewis was also nominated in 2003 for a Primetime Emmy Award for her role in the 2003 television filmHysterical Blindness(directed byMira Nair). Recently, she starred in the HBO limited seriesI Know This Much Is TruealongsideMark RuffaloandMelissa Leo. She also plays the adult version of the character Natalie in Showtime’s thriller seriesYellowjackets.

Begley’s role is described as an emotionally distant father. His previous acting works include playing Dr. Victor Ehrlich in the medical dramaSt. Elsewhere, which ran from 1982-1988 on NBC. He also appeared in 1995’sBatman Forever(directed byJoel Schumacher), 2008’sPineapple Express(directed byDavid Gordon Green), and 2016’sGhostbusters(directed byPaul Feig). Recently, he has appeared inYoung Sheldonas Dr. Grant Linkletter andBless This Messas Rudolph Longfellow.

The reboot was created byStephen Dunn. Dunn will serve as a writer, executive producer, and direct the series’ pilot episode. “It’s a surreal honor to adapt the notoriously groundbreaking series by [original series creator] Russell T. Davies,“Dunn previously saidwhen talking about the series. Davies will also be an executive producer for the reboot series.Jaclyn Moorewill be a writer and executive producer, andLee Eisenberg, Emily Brecht, Nicola Shindler,andLouise Pedersenwill also be executive producers of the series.

No official release date has been given by Peacock forQueer as Folk.Production is currently underway in New Orleans.
