Netflix’sRebeccawas quite poorly received by critics at the time of its premiere, but it did perform quite well with audiences, debuting at number one on the streamer’s Top 10 list. In all fairness, the film really can’t hope to match Hitchcock’s version, but it is quite a well-crafted production in its own right. Though the movie doesn’t fully realize its potential, it’s still a thrilling period watch with great performances, costumes, and cinematography.
