There are a few familiar faces on90 Day Fiancé’s current season, includingJessica ParsonsandJuan David Daza. But, if their current dynamic is any indication, they may not return. The couple first appeared on90 Day Fiancé: Love in Paradiseafter meeting on a cruise ship where Juan was bartending. Jessica became pregnant, and so began their journey to get Juan to the U.S. Though he missed the birth of their son, viewers watched Juan make the big moveat thestart of90 Day Fiancé’s11th season. Now, he’s no longer just a boyfriend ashe navigates cultural differences, deals with visa issues, and steps into the role of a father-of-three, as he helps parent Jessica’s older boys and their newborn.

Yet Juan may be in over his head. From the beginning, Juan struggled to adapt to life in America. It’s a dramatic shift from his globe-trotting days, but for Jessica, not much has changed. She ended a marriage right before meeting Juan, leaving her little time to process the split. It’s almost as if Juan is walking into a role that was only vacant for a short time –he’s a replacement for her ex-husband. The more you look at it, the more Juan feels like a rebound. And if Juan starts believing this, he may be more motivated to jump ship – or, should we say, return to the cruise ship without Jessica.

Is Juan Just Filling a Vacancy in Jessica’s Life?

The timeline of Jessica’s divorce and relationship with Juan is hazy but fast. She wassupposed to go on the cruise where she met Juan with her then-husbandand their friends. However, the marriage fell apartbefore the vacation. Jessica nearly backed out, but her friends convinced her to go. It was a life-changing choice since that’s where she met Juan.

In the blink of an eye, Jessica was pregnant, and they were engaged – despite never living in the same place. To be fair,Juan hadn’t settled anywhere in years, as he’d been at sea. Jessica has been ready for Juan to step into a parental role from the moment he landed, telling the camera how excited she was tofinallyhave help. And who can blame her? Being a single mom to three boys, including a newborn, can’t be easy.

Why I Believe ’90 Day: The Last Resort’s Rob and Sophie Are Just as Bad as Each Other

The problem is neither is willing to own up to their mistakes.

But Juan had no experience with kids and has been thrust into fatherhood with three of them. While he appears willing,he is overwhelmedeven on the drive home from the airport. Yet, Jessica either didn’t notice or ignored it. She didn’t hesitate to call Juan “Dad” in front of her older boys, even though they barely knew each other.

So far,Jessica hasn’t made any effort to help Juan’s transition. He was visiblyshocked to find their bedroom has no door, giving the kids free access. Sure, Juan was probably looking forward to some intimacy after being separated for months. But he probably also just wanted privacy. It’shard enough adjusting to fatherhood, but doing it without any personal space is next-level challenging.

Even more worrisome,Jessica brushed off his concerns, saying a lack of privacy is part of parenting. She acts like he owes her this after she’s been a single mom for months. But that’s unfair. Expecting him to jump in without any time to adjust is unrealistic. The man needs space to breathe – after all, most parents have bedroom doors. If Jessica had acknowledged Juan’s apprehension and found a solution, it could’ve changed the entire scene’s dynamic.

Jessica is comfortable with the family dynamic because she’s been living this way for a while(her ex-husband may have lived on the same farm she moved Juan into). She’s in the same town, making her life feel familiar despite all the changes. Meanwhile,Juan has been thrown into a new world, and Jessica isn’t grasping that.

Can Their Relationship Survive Another Scandal?

If Juan starts to feel like he’s just a placeholder, their relationship could be in serious trouble. They need to work as a team where he has an equal say. But if his concerns continue to be brushed off, he will likely reach his breaking point. And that could either lead to an explosive confrontation or a quiet exit, leaving Jessica with a baby, two boys, and potentially an international custody battle.

Let’s not forgetJuan’s loyalty has already been questioned. DuringLove in Paradise, a woman claimed she had an affair with Juan, telling an eerily similar tale to his and Jessica’s love story. Juan denied doing anything inappropriate with her, and Jessica believed him. But Juan and Jessica’s relationship barely survived the cheating allegation. IfJuan realizes he’s a rebound or their dynamic overwhelms him, things could fall apart. Given their rocky history, another rough patch could be the final blow.
