The truth is finally about to be revealed. SyFy’s new seriesRevival, starringWynonna Earp’sMelanie Scrofano, wraps up its debut season this week and looks to addressthe central mystery at its heartsince day one — Why did the dead begin rising from the grave? Before the answers come out, Collider can offer an exclusive sneak peek at the finale, titled “Rend the Veil,” that finds Em (Romy Weltman) in grave danger and the rest of the Cypress family at the mercy of Blaine Abel (Steven Ogg) and his followers at the local church. Dana (Scrofano) has to act fast to save herself, her undead sister, and her father before the worst comes to pass.
In the sneak peek, two men with assault rifles lie in wait as Wayne (David James Elliott) and Dana head around the side of a building with their guns drawn. When someone calls out to them and they turn back, everyone pounces and takes them captive without a struggle. They’re both hauled before the altar where Blaine has Em tied up, preparing to execute her while her family watches. Blaine holds a personal grudge against Wayne for how he treated his father and is more than happy to have a reason to send his"demon" Reviver daughter back to the grave. Thinking quickly, Dana does the only thing she can andreveals that Em healed her, playing to the group’s zealous faith to dissuade them. Although Blaine says that makes her “special,” his mannerisms hint that he’s not just about to let them all walk off freely.

Revivalbegan with the dead rising during what was dubbed “Revival Day,” and the fallout of the town’s deceased suddenly trying to return to their lives and behaving as they once were. For Dana, this story stemmed froma grisly murder investigationamid the fear and confusion, but it has since become something so much more, with secrets coming out and hints as to the revival’s origins being uncovered. Between the investigation, the family drama of the Cypresses, and Em adjusting to life as one of the Revivers, the tension has been building up to now asthe pro and anti-Reviver forcesmake their moves. The finale will finally offer big answers, but the synopsis confirms that it’ll come at a dire cost for everyone involved.
