Anime YouTuber andTrash Tastepodcast co-host Gigguk (aka:Garnt Maneetapho) has announced that he’s making his anime alongside Geex+ and Studio Daisy.Baan - The Boundaries of Adulthood(also known asBâan) is an upcoming film that was announced during the GeeXPlus Inc. panel at Anime Expo and is scheduled to release this year.

Bâanis an upcoming isekai film following Arai Daichi and Rinrada Ratchamanee, who are both searching for a place where they belong. The film takes place between Japan and the fictional world of Euthania, whose setting is inspired by Thai and Southeast Asian mythology. The project is based on an original story by Gigguk himself, will be animated by Studio Daisy, directed byYoshimitsu Ōhashi, who also directedCode Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, and will be composed byKevin Penkin, who previously worked onMade in Abyss.Baanis set for a theatrical release in Japan before becoming available worldwide on YouTube.

It was also confirmed thatBâanwill be dubbed in both Japanese and English. Voicing the Japanese dub areHaruna Mikawa(Solo Leveling) as Rin, andShouya Ishige(Yu-Gi-Oh! Vrains) as Daichi. Meanwhile, in the English dub, it was reported that Gigguk’s wife,Sydney Poniewaz(aka Sydsnap), is cast as Rin. The full voice cast list for both languages has yet to be revealed.

Who Is Garnt Maneetapho (AKA Gigguk)?

Gigguk is a Thai-British YouTuber who now resides in Japan, who’s known for their anime commentary videos. He has a following of 3.6 million on his main YouTube channel, and his most popular video has garnered 32 million views, where he summarizedAttack on Titanin 9 minutes. Gigguk started his career in 2006, but took it seriously afterleaving his job at the BBC. Aside from being a YouTuber, he is also the co-host of the Trash Taste Podcast, along with other content creators, CDawgVa (Connor Colquhoun) and The Anime Man (Joey Bizinger).

Outside of content creation, Gigguk has a few voice acting roles under his belt, includingHonkai: Star Railas “Restless Vagrant” andMashle: Magic and Musclesas “Rhodes Eamus.” Additionally, he was involved in the2025 Crunchyroll Anime Awards, where he presented a few of the categories, including “Best New Series.”

Baan - The Boundaries of Adulthood -is scheduled to enter Japanese theaters on August 24, before being released on YouTube for free on Gigguk’s YouTube channel. you’re able to watch the trailer above.
